5 Stars D10 is king for portable underwater digital camera
I was looking for a waterproof camera to take on my Hawaii vacation and originally stumbled on the Fuji Z33WPFujifilm FinePix Z33WP 10 MP Waterproof Digital Camera with 3x Optical Zoom (Black), the price was right but the reviews I was reading on the photo sites were not very good. I wanted a camera that can be used in the water AND on dry land and still produce good pictures! After more online research I decided to order the D10, I have had numerous other canon powershot cams so I was familiar with the menus and layout.

The camera is slightly bulkier than your standard powershot camera and not as easy to pocket. I had no problem with size as long as I was wearing shorts or pants that were not jeans. You do need to be careful since the lens and back screen are always exposed so I used my old A70 case to transport my D10. Battery life was good, we used the D10 at the pool, ocean, snorkeling and never killed a battery. The camera buttons were easy to use underwater while snorkeling. The button layout is slightly different than other powershot cams but you get used to it really quick! The video and photo came out very, you can even use the flash underwater and it provides some decent detail on close subjects like coral.

The wrist strap that comes with this camera is sturdy and has an adjuster knob so you can tighten so it wont fall off!! Great feature that no longer comes on the powershot cams!

Overall - the D10 was almost double the $$ over the Fuji but after this trip i was pleased i spent the extra money on it!

5 Stars best camera ever had
This camera is for sure the best one we’ve ever owned. We have two small children who LOVE to take pictures and we have no worries with the strap they can adjust around their little wrists. They’ve even dropped it already (which is what busted our other camera) and there was no problem or disfunction to the camera. Underwater photos are incredible and there is no compromise with out-of-water shots either. We did a lot of research and heard this was the best one underwater camera around. Now we believe it. Definitely worth every penny.

4 Stars Perfect for what I was looking for
I bought this camera before a trip to Mexico to use while snorkeling. I was very pleased with its’ performance. The underwater pics turned out nicely, as did the underwater video. I’m bummed that it’s not HD video, but they still look good. Sufficient lighting is always an issue when taking pics under water. The flash seemed to work well. In some cases the camera picked up things we didn’t notice at the time (like some little sucker fish clinging to a turtle). Housing didn’t leak at all. Oh yeah, it takes some pretty damn nice pics out of the water too. It’s not the slimmest design, but fits nicely in my hand. Awesome.

5 Stars Great option for a water proof camera
We were going on a Caribbean vacation and knew that we were going to be doing a lot of water sports and swimming. We looked around for a a water proof camera and ended up buying this camera. To our surprise the picture quality was great even for normal use so we took only this camera on vacation. We used this camera throughout the trip for both underwater and normal photos and the results were great. The only place where it lagged in performance a bit was in low light conditions. Our snorkeling and beach shots turned out great and we even caught some really great pics of our friends jumping off a 20 feet pier into the water.

Its a good camera, a little bulky but performs very well as far as picture quality is concerned.

1 Stars Good for the Bathtub, not for Surfers!
2nd time in the water, FAIL! I followed the directions to the Letter in regards to soaking it and cleaning it right after having it in salt water. The Pics were fuzzy to take, not to good when you’re in DEEP SURF trying to survive and take pics. Second time out, the cheaply made leash it came with SNAPPED and BOTH SEALS were rendered useless by the Pacific Ocean, which Zapped the Camera. I don’t understand how some reviewers can say a product like this is going to be good, but anticipate having to change seals on the camera in the future. I got mine New and the seals were bad, so now I’m out a camera, and memory card. That $100 EXTRA pack SHOULD COME STANDARD with the camera as well, not some Cheap Leash. I guess if you are going to just go snorkeling and take still photos with this camera, it’s gotten enough good reviews for that, just DON’T BUY this if you think it’s a rugged camera that can take a beating. Because it CAN’T!

ALL THAT GLITTERS ISN’T GOLD!

And btw, I like that it’s a “big” camera, I have “big” hands, not small tiny bony girl hands, like the rest of the competition makes. And before you haters say “Get A Go Pro” I have friends that have been ripped off by that cheap POS garbage camera.
