I bought this camcorder before going on a roadtrip. It is incredibly light and easy to carry around. One touch recording and usb already attached make it very efficient. The picture and sound quality are excellent. Very easy to operate and a pleasure to use.

I’ve had my Flip video for a couple of months. I’ve made a few videos adding personalized music which was fairly easy to do. I even had to email customer service for a little help and was extremely satisfied with the care I received. I have not had any trouble with the video being grainy or anything when I have played it full screen on my PC. I have taken videos indoors and out without any quality issues. This is the perfect video camera to leave in your purse or diaper bag. It also makes a fantastic gift for a new mom, and the price makes it reasonable.
If I were buying one for myself today (because I know that it works and is extremely easy to use), I would buy one with at least a one hour video…probably the newer one that takes two hours of video. Also, I do think that the screen is a bit small compared to most camcorders and digital cameras today. I give it 4 stars because of the screen size and short recording time only.

5 Stars I love my Flip MinoHD
This is the latest version in the flip series of cameras and I love it. It is my second flip camera and I will stick with them. I am a webmaster and I need a lot of video done quick and easily without a lot of hassle. Put something together and upload it to youtube? It’s a snap with this camera. And the HD image is magnificent. I don’t know how they fit all that picture in such a small camera.
Improvements they made: The flip out USB connector and button is much sturdier.
** No more batteries or charging. When you plug it in to get your videos to the computer it automatically starts recharging and will blink while charging. done charging and it stops blinking. Very easy and a great improvement.
** Picture quality is just remarkable.
** Holds an hour of video. Terrific for something you can slide in your pocket.
** Only a few buttons and real easy to use.
** It looks great, very sleek.
If you are a webmaster wanting to get in on the youtube revolution I recommend this camera.

This thing is the bomb! The video quality is fantastic, takes up the whole screen on a 15 inch Macbook Pro. The software that is included is good, and it works great with iLife as well.
The only problem is that sometimes it is hard to stabilize the camera so the video doesn’t shake, or maybe I need to cut back on the caffeine.

This camera is great for it’s low cost. Easy to use and I carry it everywhere. How many times have you wished you had a video camera to capture something? This camera makes it possible. I keep it in the cinch sack and it seems sturdy as i toss it around pretty good. it goes to work with me every day, kayaking, walks….all over the place. The digital zoom is almost useless though, so the regular 1X is about your only option. Makes youtube publication EASY and QUICK!! The footage is also great in editing programs although you need to convert for a mac though 
as it won’t work with .avi format without a codec and final cut won’t use .avi at all.

I am very fond of the high products that come from Creative Labs, and once again, is quiet pleased with this product. It’s a mini video camera, one in which you can take pictures or select pictures from the video itself. One of the features I like is that it has a USB, that folds in, attached to the camera. It comes with a cover so there is no pressure to purchase one separate, and when it says it is in Hi-def, it really is in Hi-def, very clean and crisp. You won’t be dissapointed in this product though you might find the screen a tad bit small.
All in all, great product!!! enough said…

5 Stars Great camera, easy-to-use with MacBook Pro and iMovie HD or 8/9
After reading many of the earlier reviews I took the plunge and purchased the Canon VIXIA HF200 flash memory camcorder. I upgraded from a Canon mini-DV camcorder because I had purchased my first HDTV from Amazon last Christmas. Of course, I needed an HD camcorder with my new HD television!
I use a Sonnet 21-in-1 multimedia reader&writer Express Card/34 and pop the SD card in to transfer the video clips to my MacBook Pro. Using iMovie ‘09, this works great. iMovie ‘09 recognizes it without flaw, and with this software I can choose the clips I want to download from the SD card to my laptop. I use iMovie ‘09 to organize my videos, and I make the initial selections of clips that I want in each project using iMovie ‘09. Then, I export to Apple’s Intermediate Codec and open this export file in iMovie HD. I prefer the timeline in Apple’s older version of iMovie. I also purchased Final Cut Express 4, but haven’t cracked that product yet, as it’s much more complicated than what I’m used to in iMovie. So, for now, I’m bringing video clips in with the latest version of iMovie, then downconverting and editing in iMovie HD; this works great. I’ll eventually learn Final Cut Express and move forward in my video editing hobby. I share all of this because I didn’t realize until I read in David Pogue’s Missing Manual book (iMovie ‘09 and iDVD) that I could still use iMovie HD with a flash memory video camera and the AVCHD codec. I’m glad to have discovered this.
As others have said, getting AVCHD encoded video clips into a computer takes LONGER than real-time because of the converting that must take place. My mode of operation with a Canon mini-DV camcorder was to fill a 60-minute tape, then transfer it to the laptop when convenient. I would get it started and come back 60 minutes later to 60-minutes of video ready to edit. Now, I come back 90 minutes later instead. Transfer seems to take about 1.5 times the length of the clips, give or take. For me, this is not a problem when I use my usual transfer and edit process.
If you’re looking for instantaneous transfer of files in useable form, though, flash memory won’t give it to you — at least with this camera. Others have stated, and I found directions in David Pogue’s book stating that it’s possible to transfer the files to the computer’s hard drive for LATER conversion to useable form for editing. I haven’t done this yet, and I would be nervous about deleting the clips from my flash memory card until I had them converted, could see them, and had them backed up on another hard drive. That’s when I clear the flash card and re-use it for new video clips. I’ve had too many lost data situations in the past and I guess I’m a bit overly cautious when I have once-in-a-lifetime video that I don’t want to lose. I believe in multiple copies of precious data, video data included. I get around this limitation by having two 16 Gb flash memory cards which, in best mode on this camera, gives me about 1.5 hours of video per card. I have yet to fill one before transferring video.
I also have multiple firewire and/or USB hard drives which I use for backing up video. If I take a long trip I’ll just buy a handful of SD chips, along with the two batteries I already own, and shoot away. Each evening it’s my practice to download to hard drive anyway, back that up to an external drive, and this seems to work for most situations. It’s less expensive to do this with mini-DV tapes (which provide one backup source), but when precious video is involved I don’t mind paying for a few extra 16 Gb chips. They’re pretty inexpensive on Amazon.com.
I recommend this camera if your habits fit mine, or if you’re looking for great-looking video on an HDTV. I have a lot to learn about this camera to get the most out of it, including the editing process. It will serve me for many years to come, as did my Canon mini-DV standard-definition camera.

- Manual focus, not so easy to work around, but good enough.

- I use a Mac and did not need any software, iMovie recognizes the AVCHD and imports it. Converts it to Quicktime and I can easily edit it too.
- Low light, like any other cam corder, not bad! Unless you are expecting something extraordinary!
- Battery life: 1.5 hrs
- I have a 16GB card…SDHC class 4…great to record… gives me just over an hour at 24MBPS. If it was class 6 recording would not be affected , but playing back or uploading to a computer would be.
- 15x optical zoom and 300x digital zoom is awesome…I have seen other cameras where the digital zoom is terrible.
- Sensor size is smaller than HFS100 and HF10/100/11 but I am not sure if that would make a difference. I have read it will in the low light conditions, but I am very happy with this camera…

I like the weight and size of this camcorder which fits nicely on my palm (I have a small hand), and I don’t feel tire anymore even after recording for an hour. I hope Canon provides a better manual especially on the video software.

5 Stars Aiptek Action HD GVS 1080P
I’m just an amateur video person. I looked at Sanyo (too expensive) and the new Sony flash video cameras before deciding on the Aiptek. The videos so far have been quite good. Don’t really care for the Arcsoft Software that came with the camera. It’s as bad as Nero. If I had to make the buying decision again, I would still purchase the Aiptek GVS 1080P.
4 Stars A weekend with the HD GVS
I received this camcorder from Amazon on Friday and spent the weekend playing around with it. Here are my initial impressions of this product. My unit was loaded with firmware revision 2302, so newer firmware may correct some of the problems I’ll mention. When I can get ahold of newer firmware (I believe 2503 is the latest stable version) I’ll update the review.
This camera is pretty small, about the size of a Walkman (if you’re old enough to remember what those were…). I have normal sized hands and I felt it was a little on the small size but tolerable. If you have big hands you might want something bigger. The door to access the USB and AV connectors can be a pain to get open is annoying once you finally do get it open. The SD card slot can be difficult to deal with as well if you don’t have tiny fingers since it’s recessed pretty far into the unit. Also, the mini tripod that comes with the unit is useless since it toppled over frequently when I tried to use it. Longer legs would have helped it be more stable. It’s a “freebie” though so I won’t count it against the camera.
When I first received the camera, I plugged it into the charger and immediately turned it on and was annoyed to see a flickering white pixel in the center of the LCD screen. I was afraid I had gotten one of the bad units many people here have complained about. I decided to go ahead and let it charge for a few hours and then try out the camcorder to see if I wanted stick with the same model and get a replacement or get a refund. After let it charge completely, the dead pixel disappeared completely. I don’t see any signs of it on the LCD or in the recorded videos.
The camera doesn’t do great in low light but in outdoor situations, the video quality is great. I took some videos of my dogs playing outside and you can make out fine details like the individual hairs flying off my husky when she shakes around. The image stabilization could be better though as the videos are still fairly shaky even with it turned on. It does help though as the videos with it on were definitely better than with it turned off.
The camera mode is useless. All of the pictures I took ended up blurry. You need a tripod to get this to work ok. I didn’t buy this thing to use it as a camera so it’s not a big deal to me but if you were hoping for something that could pull double duty, try something else.
Annoyances - First of all, many of the features don’t work in 1080P mode, most importantly the image stabilization. If you get video editing software that do stabilization in software it may be worth shooting in 1080P and use 720P as the output format but otherwise, aside from on a tripod I don’t see using 1080P very often because of this. The other major one I’ve encountered is that you plug the camcorder into your camcorder and turn it on (basically putting it into SD card reader mode), it never wants to turn off again. I have to pop open the battery cover and flip the battery out and back in the power it off. Not a huge deal since using a separate SD card reader is more convenient anyway but it still a bit annoying.
All in all, for $180 dollars, I think this is a good deal. It does have its problems but I think it’ll be a great camera for beginners or for occasional use.

Excellent product. Does most of what I wanted it for. However software does not allow one to make a CD. When I contacted KODAK, THEY SUGGESTED ANOTHER software program which costs almost as much as the product costs. This is a problem
5 Stars Worth the Money
This is the best camera for the money. This camera allows you to swap out batteries, simply and the SDHC Card function is a must have. Be sure to update your firmware. And YOU MUST hold this camera still. Easier said then done I know, however, if you can achieve using this on a tripod, you get the benefit of great HD Video with supurb color. I suggest the refurb for $100 from Amazon. It is just as good and likely not to have the sound hiss 1/3 of these cameras have new.

I love Amazon i did one day shipping and got it the next day by 1:30pm, awsome!! This little gadget works great. Some people complain that it has low quality, but for the size and price I say it works great. Totally happy with my purchase. I bought two, one for my mom and one for me, and she just loves it. The Zi6 it so easy to use she doesn’t even need my help to operate it. Thanks Amazon and Kodak.

I bought this camcorder before going on a roadtrip. It is incredibly light and easy to carry around. One touch recording and usb already attached make it very efficient. The picture and sound quality are excellent. Very easy to operate and a pleasure to use.

I’ve had my Flip video for a couple of months. I’ve made a few videos adding personalized music which was fairly easy to do. I even had to email customer service for a little help and was extremely satisfied with the care I received. I have not had any trouble with the video being grainy or anything when I have played it full screen on my PC. I have taken videos indoors and out without any quality issues. This is the perfect video camera to leave in your purse or diaper bag. It also makes a fantastic gift for a new mom, and the price makes it reasonable.
If I were buying one for myself today (because I know that it works and is extremely easy to use), I would buy one with at least a one hour video…probably the newer one that takes two hours of video. Also, I do think that the screen is a bit small compared to most camcorders and digital cameras today. I give it 4 stars because of the screen size and short recording time only.
